Fear Doesn't Have to Hold You Back

ERP-based treatment for fears of flying, driving, needles, blood, heights, vomiting and other phobias

It's More Than Just Being Afraid

Everyone experiences fear. But when that fear becomes intense enough to trigger panic, avoidance, or significant distress, even ordinary situations can begin to feel impossible.

Phobias can develop around specific situations, objects, or physical experiences. Avoidance may bring temporary relief, but it can also reinforce the fear and make your world feel smaller over time.

Common Fears & Phobias

From everyday situations to very specific triggers, fears can influence where you go, what you do, and how you experience life.

Fear of Heights (Acrophobia)

Feeling intense fear around balconies, bridges, elevators with views, or high places. Even imagining these situations may trigger dizziness, panic, or avoidance.

Intense anxiety about flying, turbulence, takeoff, or losing control. You may avoid air travel, repeatedly check flight safety, or experience panic before an upcoming trip.

Fear of driving on highways, bridges, busy roads, or unfamiliar routes. You may avoid certain roads, rely on others for transportation, or worry about losing control while driving.

Anxiety around injections, blood draws, injuries, or medical appointments. Some people also experience dizziness or fainting, which requires a carefully tailored exposure approach.

Persistent fear of vomiting, feeling nauseated, or witnessing someone else become sick. This may lead to food restrictions, avoiding public places, or excessive monitoring of bodily sensations.

Intense fear of dogs, spiders, snakes, insects, or other animals. You may avoid outdoor spaces, unfamiliar homes, or situations where you might encounter them.

Fear of elevators, tunnels, airplanes, or other enclosed spaces. You may worry about feeling trapped, being unable to escape, or experiencing panic.

Anxiety about choking while eating, swallowing pills, or consuming certain foods. This may lead to avoidance, excessive chewing, or rigid eating habits.

Phobias can involve storms, water, darkness, loud noises, and many other situations. Exposure therapy can be tailored to your particular triggers and avoidance patterns.

No matter how specific or overwhelming your fear feels, treatment can help you gradually face it and reclaim the activities you’ve been avoiding.

Why Avoiding Your Fears Keeps Them Growing

Avoiding something you’re afraid of may bring immediate relief, but it can also teach your brain that the situation is dangerous, even when the actual risk is low.

Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) helps you gradually face feared situations while reducing avoidance and safety behaviors. Over time, you can learn that you’re capable of tolerating uncertainty, discomfort, and fear without needing to escape.

The goal isn’t to never feel afraid again. It’s to build confidence so fear no longer decides what you can and cannot do.

What Does ERP Therapy Look Like?

1 - Understand Your Fears

Identify your triggers, feared outcomes, avoidance patterns, and safety behaviors.

2 - Practice Facing Fears

Create personalized exposures and practice responding to discomfort and uncertainty without compulsions.

3 - Build Lasting Skills

Apply ERP strategies in everyday situations so you can make choices based on your values rather than fear.
