What is Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART)?

ART is a cutting-edge, evidence-based therapy designed to resolve trauma and emotional pain in a matter of sessions, not years. By blending elements of traditional talk therapy with innovative visual techniques, ART taps into the brain's natural ability to process and reframe distressing memories.

How Does ART Work?

ART uses a combination of guided imagery and rapid eye movements to help your brain "recode" painful experiences without the need to relive them in detail. Here's how it works:

  1. You’ll identify a memory or feeling causing distress.
  2. Using guided eye movements, your brain processes and reduces the emotional charge of the memory.
  3. You’ll replace the distressing imagery with positive, empowering alternatives.

All of this happens in a safe, supportive environment where you control the pace of your healing.

How is ART Different from EMDR?

 While EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and ART both use eye movements, ART takes a more focused and accelerated approach:

  • No Retelling of Trauma: Unlike EMDR, you don’t need to recount your trauma in detail, making ART especially appealing for those who find discussing their experiences overwhelming.
  • Faster Results: Many clients experience significant relief after just 1 session.
  • Creative Empowerment: ART encourages you to replace negative memories with positive visualizations, fostering a sense of control and empowerment.
  • Minimal Homework: ART sessions are self-contained, with no intensive assignments between appointments.
